The Y-CG Financial Governance Taxonomy is the foundational classification system underlying all Y-CG analysis. It organises governance indicators into a hierarchical taxonomy covering board structure, audit integrity, executive compensation, related-party transactions, capital management, and shareholder rights.

The taxonomy provides a consistent, evidence-based vocabulary for comparing governance quality across companies, sectors, and jurisdictions — enabling structured analysis rather than subjective assessment.
